Named for a stack of rifles. Run on burgers.
In 1900, the town fathers needed a name for the new school district. Someone eyed the stack of Winchester rifles by the door and that was that — sixty-seven years later, Death Valley Days rolled into town to film an episode about it.
The old sawmill's mill pond grew up to become Winchester Lake, and the lake brings campers, anglers, and road-trippers right past our door. Since 2019 we've turned the old bar into a place for the whole family: scratch kitchen, big kids menu, pool, darts, the game on the TVs, and a full bar for the grown-ups.
